Historical Information: 83 4-axle DASH 8-40BW diesel locomotives were produced by GE in the early 1990s for Santa Fe with the new North American Cab. These high horsepower BW40-8 engines are still in service.
This Atlas N Scale Dash 8-40BW locomotive is NCE DCC equipped. Its many features include directional lighting, painted safety rails, blackened metal wheels, factory-equipped with AccuMate® knuckle couplers, Scale Speed™ motor and golden-white LEDs.
