ERIE 304, built in October 1939, was one of 177 high hood diesel switcher locomotives produced by ALCO between 1931 and 1940 in various horsepower ratings and body styles. The biggest change occurred in 1934 when they were redesigned to improve their boxy appearance. The digits after the HH designation indicated the horsepower. For example, the HH660 model came with 660 hp.
ATLAS 10000425 HO Scale Master Series Silver comes with a NMRA 8-pin plug and is DCC/decoder ready. Its many features include a five-pole skewed armature motor with dual flywheels for optimum performance at all speeds, early Blunt truck with separate brake cylinders, molded coil spring detail and metal truck chains, separately-applied metal grab irons and lift rings, separately-applied fine scale handrails and stanchions, coupler cut lever and piping, directional lighting with golden-white LEDs, and factory-equipped AccuMate® knuckle couplers.
